ABOUT ME
MY MISSION
There is wisdom in knowing what is beyond our control, and what is not. Ultimately, the only person in charge of the pen in which you write your life’s story is you, and if you have the courage to seize it, there is nothing more liberating. That is exactly what I intend to do. I intend to seize my pen, and take it outside.
My name is Scott, and I am a Biomedical Engineer. In March, against conventional wisdom, I left my job in Biotech to embark on the greatest adventure of my life. Starting April 1st, I locked up my apartment in Fort Lauderdale for the last time, and hit the road.
I should mention that I am not an expert in everything the outdoors has to offer. Far from it, actually. I do, however, have enough practical outdoors experience to avoid getting myself in a very stupid situation. I guess what I mean to say is, I like my odds of not dying, but I absolutely plan on pushing some limits. I hope to show you that with the right research and the proper preparation, virtually anyone can do these things.
There is an adventurer in all of us, and I just couldn’t ignore that part of me anymore. We live on an absolutely gorgeous planet, and I aim to see more of it.
I hope you consider joining the adventure by either following me on social media, OR even inviting me outside for some fun.

Please be patient with me as I continue to to flesh out this site. I had a lot to do in the four weeks between quitting my job and hitting the road. There is, yet, a lot more to be done.
I’m proud of where SO is at the moment, but it’s not even close to it’s full potential. As I go, I plan to update this site with travel tips, product reviews, and much more.
